Updates, fixes and temporarily disabled features November 12, 2007

Here is list of changes since September 18, 2007.

  • Django updated to HEAD caused few minor issues that were fixed afterwards. Fixes in comments and persona form were required.
  • Persona management was disabled and will stay disabled until we get full implementation done with full SREG support which currently stays disabled at the endpoint.
  • Changelog (our Django blogging application) had a few updates and improvements of the functionality and the look and feel. URL to feed and feed icons were added to improve accessibility. New setting added to specify changelog's prefix URL.
  • OpenID favicon is now being used.
  • You can switch the look and feel of the site through your account settings.Currently white or black themes are available.
  • Fancy design tweaks are now disabled for all IE browsers. We will continue in this trend so all IE browsers will always have limited design. If you want to see the site with all of its intended design features please use a browser that do not require endless and painful CSS hacking.
  • Many endpoint improvements. XRDS now improved and contains openid:Delegate attribute. Checkid setup and immediate reimplemented. Security features added. Identity normalization added. Immediate handler improved and working as expected.
  • Username now showed in the secondary menu which contains links to user's profile, etc. This was an accessibility improvement.

Few more important notes.

  • Handpicks is a new section at our OpenID.co.nz blog. You may want to subscribe to it if you are interested in what's happening in OpenID world and OpenID in New Zealand.
  • Changelog that you read at the moment is intended to inform only about changes at OpenID.net.nz.
  • Please let us know about your experience with OpenID.net.nz is you use the site for delegation of your own URI as your OpenID.
  • Fully functional persona management is currently task number one for us and should be released soon.

Design, XRI support, RSS, ... September 18, 2007

I am glad to inform you about recent changes on OpenID.(co|net).nz site.

Design of the site is now finished. All forms, Changelog and last bits and pieces of unfinished design are done. We're quite happy with the design, however, we would like to kindly ask you if you think we could do a better job, for your feedback on the matter. In general any feedback will be much appreciated!

In Personas management we lowered requirements for Personas. So from now on only nick, full name and an email are required fields. We would like to thank Jim for his feedback on this.

RSS and Atom feeds were added, so you can subscribe to the changelog with your favorite feed reader and stay in touch with us.

XRI support is now part of our server endpoint, too! This raised few more issues with authentication to certain sites, however fixed issues with authentication to some other sites. We're working hard to finish and fix as much issues as we can and make our server working perfectly for you.

We would like to ask you in case you would experience any trouble with authentication to any OpenID enabled website with your Identity from us to let us know. Your feedback is appreciated and highly valuable for us!

Redesign and new functionality September 12, 2007

Here is a summary of changes we have done to both OpenID.net.nz and OpenID.co.nz sites since September 9th, 2007.

The look & feel of the sites is changed significantly. New theme is white instead of black. We made lots of changes to pretty much everything on the site to make it more accessible and usable for our users.

We intend to keep black theme an an optional theme for all registered Identities. Possibly even provide more themes in the future.

Identity page(s) located as a subdomains of the main site are simple and provide only minimal functionality. New menu was introduced which brings you either back to the main site or to Learn More page. Important thing to bear in mind is that you are logged in to the main OpenID.net.nz site only! Authentication is not provided and more importantly not needed neither for Identity pages nor OpenID.co.nz site.

New personas management is now available for everyone. You can add and edit as many personas you want to have.

You can also manage your account. This functionality will be expanded soon, though.

And the last thing is this changelog that we added to keep informing you about our progress.
